Ruston Banal is an interdisciplinary artist who specializes in photography, film-making, feature writing, design, culinary history, and concept-building for creative industries. He took his undergraduate degree with Latin Honors at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts under the Theory Department. He is a current full-time scholar focusing on pedagogy at the Goldsmiths, the University of London in the UK taking up an MA in Designing Education. He is a 3-time Ani ng Dangal Awardee of the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts.
He is a key person to the most prestigious photography awards in the world, the International Photography Awards under the company FarmaniGroup which stages red carpet events in Broadway, New York.
Recently, Ruston was commissioned by the NCCA (National Commission for the Culture and the Arts) and TESDA to create a national certification training program on Woodcarving, where Ruston is an expert and a connoisseur. He grew up in Betis and worked on an undergrad thesis on Dukit.
